Biography
Hello, my name is Alisa Reynolds and I began at ADS in 2019. I started out as a 5th grade teacher but now, am very happy to say, I teach Kindergarten. Someone I highly respect likes to say, "It takes a special kind of crazy to teach kinders." I am not sure if that means I am especially crazy or not but I love my job!
Facts people want to know:
Education: University of Iowa - BLS, Prescott College - teaching cert & Ed M (focus on informal education)
Background: I have worked in classrooms in Catalina Foothills & Tucson Unified School Districts; oversaw outreach for Providence Children's Museum (RI); ran science camps for Museum of Science, Boston and Arizona Science Center.
Where am I from: I grew up moving all around the country until my father's job finally settled us in St Louis MO. I went to school and settled in Iowa until 1988 when, while touring with a band, I came to Tucson. I honestly stepped out of the touring bus and knew that I found my soul's home. I did move to the east coast to serve in the Americorps but my heart led me back home.
My life: I am pretty much a homebody...I read. I sew. I ride my bike. I like to bake but always give the goods away. I love to just sit in the desert. Recently I joined a league and am learning to play softball.
I look forward to getting to know your child this year. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach me by email at [email protected]
