Biography

Hello, my name is Sheri Mendoza and I am the Special Education Director/Teacher here at Academy Del Sol. I earned my Bachelor's degree in Psychology from University of Phoenix, my Post-Bachelor's degree in Special Education from Pima Community College, and my Master’s degree in Educational Psychology Human Relations from Northern Arizona University.

This is my 7th year here at Academy Del Sol. I previously worked in the Sunnyside School District as a special education teacher, and in the Vail School District in various positions within the special education department and within the preschool.

I am a born and bred Arizonan. I grew up in Benson and moved to Tucson in 1997. My husband and I have been married for 29 years and we have one daughter, Mikayla, who is 19 years old. We enjoy glamping/camping, going on cruises, going to Disneyland, watching movies, and being outdoors together. We have two corgis, named Jasper and Rue. Jasper is a therapy dog and occasionally comes to school with me. Corgis are my main passion.
